Tuscany

TUSCANY

I recently visited Italy and one of the places I stayed in was a little town in Tuscany called Pozzo della Chiana. I picked this area because I found the most amazing villa accommodation called, Fontelunga Hotel & Villas. Even several weeks before we arrived the hotel staff would check up and email me asking if I had any requests. They went above and beyond with helping me book wine tours and find restaurants. I can't compliment them enough on how hospitable they were.

When I finally arrived to the beautiful countryside, I was greeted by staff, which felt more like family, and was offered a drink. The hotel has one big villa with several wonderfully decorated as well as private villas. Fontelunga has a pool and hot tub on site overlooking the countryside and beautiful olive groves surrounding you. The main kitchen area feels immediately like home with the comfy cozy couches, soft yet trendy music playing throughout the home, every drink imaginable fully stocked, a fire place near the outside dining area, complimentary bikes, and anything you can possibly need/want. Breakfast is served daily and let me tell you, its AMAZING! You can request lunch if you'd like to eat at the villas and dinner is served and cooked by staff on specific nights. We got to experience dinner at the hotel one night and I was in heaven! Fontelunga also has cooking classes, massage therapists that can be scheduled for on-site massages, and I'm pretty sure they have to have a fairy god mother because they have endless connections to just about anything.  Paolo and Philip are the owners and they are truly some of the kindest souls I have ever met. They have such a warm heart and have several cute cuddly dogs that roam the villas. Paolo and Philip instantly became our friends and they made such an impression on our time in Italy. The minute I arrived I knew I would want to come back to this very place and I know I will definitely be paying them a visit in the near future again. Tuscany was beautiful but Fontelunga made it that much more memorable. I linked the hotel below for any of you visiting Tuscany in the future. You won't regret this lovely place!

Also, I linked below to the private wine tour we did. Fontelunga suggested this company and they were fantastic as well. Cristian was such a nice gentleman and he drove us around in an old Alfa Romeo red convertible all day. He had so much knowledge on the surrounding areas, buildings, history, and lots of knowledge on wine. He spent the whole day with, us including lunch, where we really got to know his background. I highly recommend SlowHills for private wine tours. Super professional and by the end Cristian will be like family.
